This song is a new departure for me. It's the first song I've been brave enough to release that's made electronically without a guitar. The lyrics were written at the beginning of the first UK Covid-19 Lockdown. They should be pretty obvious but to give you a hint, they are about starting to date someone and then being hit by lockdown (where I live lockdown became a norm for months!) and not being able to see that person again.

I did write a few other lockdown poems. Everyone has had their own struggles during the pandemic, 2020 has has it's highs and (mostly) lows without a doubt. I always express myself in poetry and lyrics when I'm overwhelmed with emotion and I feel fortunate to be able to do so. I hope you have found your own way to deal with the constant change and limitation. I know so many people are struggling so I want to release this song in solidarity with you all. Please ask for help if you can't cope. It's never easy to ask for help but it's so crucial.

In the lyrics section here I've used the original note I made with possible chords and ideas on arrangement from my phone as I started this song on guitar, (as is so normal for me), even though I knew I wanted it to be my first electronic dance/pop song.

The vocals on the track were originally a rough guide version which I ended up using because I wanted to capture that initial energy and passion that always comes when I'm in the process of writing.The rest took a while as I was (and am always) still learning about making electronic music and I REALLY wanted to do a good job. Hoping perfectionism pays off!
